Founded in 1608 and located in the region of Asturias at the northern Atlantic coast of Spain, Universidad de Oviedo has a long experience in international programmes and strong connections with Latin American Universities. The region’s industrial tradition explains the prevalence and quality of technical courses, especially engineering courses such as electronic, mechanic, mechatronic, mining industry, chemical and industrial engineering and IT.
EU4M teaching in UniOvi is mainly carried out by two departments: Departamento de Construcción e Ingeniería de Fabricación (DCIF) and Departamento de Ingeniería Eléctrica, Electrónica, de Computadores y de Sistemas (DIEECS). DCIF is the Mechanical Engineering Department of Universidad de Oviedo, and DIEECS is the Electrical Engineering Department. Both DCIF and DIEECS are currently two of the most important Departments in Universidad de Oviedo as far as joint projects with companies is concerned. The research experience of the professors teaching in EU4M undoubtedly provides an enormous added value to their lectures.
