Entry September 2016:

Applicants are invited to apply online via our homepage from November on.

Master´s in Mechatronic Engineering in the Erasmus Mundus Programme

The Dual Master´s Degree Master in Mechatronic Engineering was developed during the 2008-2012 period with the support of the ERASMUS MUNDUS Program. The outstanding success of our alumni and our cooperation with the industry are paving the way for us to continue with this programme by offering a two-year (120 ECTS) accredited* master’s course in Mechatronic Engineering. Our aim is to familiarize students and invited scholars with the methods, the development and the application of mechatronics in different fields including automotive engineering, aerospace, mobile communication systems, MEMS and, adaptive systems in optics, bionics and robotics.

The master´s students will study at two of the five partner universities:

  • HSKA, Karlsruhe, Germany.
  • ENSMM, Besançon, France.
  • UNIOVI, Gijón, Spain.
  • ISPEU, Ivanovo, Russian Federation.
  • NILE, Cairo, Egypt.

The students can also spend part of their studies at a non-European associated partner university. Lectures are given in the local languages of French, German, Spanish and English (in Egypt and Russia!). Besides earning a world-class qualification, students will have the opportunity to learn new languages and improve their intercultural skills.

During the EU4M Thesis Project, our students work with professionals from different backgrounds in renowned academic institutions and in the industry sector, thus getting an insight into state-of-the-art European mechatronic technologies. This way, students will develop a coherent and integrated approach towards the design and implementation of contemporary systems.

Third-party institutions offer scholarships for European and non-European students as well as for non-European scholars.

Some important points of studying with EU4M:

Financial Support

Different scholarships are available for this two-year master´s course.

Our top three applicants will receive up to a 50% reduction in tuition fees for their first year of studies. The following three will get a reduction of 20%.

A reduction of the tuition fees for the second year can also be awarded to our students, based on their academic results during their first year.

University-Industry Cooperation

Special financial support could be applyed for from the EU4M-Consortium to study this master´s course over three years in cooperation between the university and industry resulting in the dual-degree and special practical experience in technology and language during this one-year industrial traineeship.

The master´s thesis can be written at one of our partner universities or associated partners, or in research and development departments in the industry.

We also offer additional courses, seminars and meetings with our partners at different companies and universities.

Language Skills Improvement

We teach in local languages at our partner universities: German, Spanish, French and English, in Egypt and Russia.

Special intensive language courses are part of the curriculum and are offered at each partner institution at the beginning of each academic year.

You also have the opportunity to share lessons with students from around the world, increasing your chance to improve your language skills as well as making new friends.

Living in a foreign country where the language is different from yours, helps you to improve it fast and easy.

Obtain a Dual Degree

To obtain a dual degree, you have to stay at a European partner institution of the EU4M Consortium (Germany, France and Spain) for at least one year. The other year, this may be the first or second year, can be spent studying at non-European partner institutions of the EU4M Consortium (Egypt or Russia), with lectures taught in English.

High Number of Associated Partners around the world

You can write your master´s thesis, study certain subjects or undergo practical training at the institutions of our associated partners.
